Do you already have a logo/brand for your company? If yes, are you pleased with it or does it need to be updated? Do do you have it in high-resolution format?(Required) High-resolution file formats include: AI, EPS, PSD or PDF.
Optional: file upload If you have those logo files ready, feel free to upload them here—this will help steer the conversation about branding, colors, etc.
Please provide 3-5 URLs of websites that you like in terms of design and layout, whether they're in your industry or not. If you can, please also explain what you like about them.
Please briefly describe a basic sitemap you think you would like for your website. Example:
1) Home
2) About Us
3) Photo Gallery
4) Contact Us, etc
In a few sentences, describe exactly what it is you do. Be as specific as you can. Example: “I own a food truck that specializes in gourmet cupcakes. I drive around Metro Denver from 11:00am-7:00pm six days a week (Mon-Sat), parking next to concerts, outdoor events, and parades, and sell cupcakes to people as an impulse buy for $5 each. I currently only accept cash.”
What is your timeline for having a new website completed? Do you have any hard deadlines we should be aware of? Example: “I have a booth each year at my annual industry trade show. This year, the show is June 3, so I’d like the new website to be live before then, and I’d like it to match the new brochures and business cards we’ll have completed by then as well.”
What is the exact purpose of your new website? Describe exactly what you want people to do when they find it. Example: “I want a website to show customers photographs of my beautiful hand-made wooden animal carvings, and then for people to purchase them online, then come to my store in Akron, OH, to pick them up.”
Please describe your physical location. Examples: “we have a physical address with a mailing address, but clients never come in because it’s just a warehouse,” or “we have multiple physical locations where clients come in to us during business hours,” or “we have a physical location but it’s rare that people would come in, and it’s by appointment only,” etc.
Will your website "mirror" exactly what you do in real life at your brick-and-mortar location? Or will it do something different? Example: “at my location, we offer dental cleanings and tooth whitening services, but on the website, we will only offer sales of whitening kits, since people have to come into our location for the actual whitening services.”
Are there any other third-party services, plugins or APIs that will need to be integrated into this site? If so, what are they? Examples: subscription processing, online registration systems, IDX widgets, inventory management synchronization, CRM integration, automated drip campaigns, online scheduling widgets, etc.
What are you currently doing to market your organization? What is and isn't working? (Or, what have you done in the past that did/didn't work?) Examples: email newsletters to current customers, social media marketing, SEO, pay-per-click ads, billboards, direct mail, phone books, cold calls, radio ads, etc.
Once the website is built, how do you plan on driving traffic to it? Examples: email newsletters to current customers, social media marketing, SEO, pay-per-click ads, billboards, direct mail, phone books, etc.
Do you currently keep a database of your existing clients and prospects with all their email addresses? Hint: you probably do, even if you don’t think so. If you use Quickbooks, a CRM, or a POS system, you can probably do an export of your customer database.
Who is your target audience for the website? Please describe him/her very specifically. Example: “My salon caters specifically to older men who are starting to lose their hair. My target audience is typically insecure 50-year-old married men making at least $120,000/year that live in San Diego. They’ve just started receiving AARP solicitations in their mailbox and don’t want to feel like old guys yet. They’re probably going to find my website late at night when nobody else is looking. They’ll book an appointment with us but, they don’t want anybody (including family members) to know about it.”
Where is your target audience located? Are they in a certain city? Statewide? National? International? Can you sell to someone in Puerto Rico? Alaska? Canada?
Do you have any specific goals for this project? Examples: “we want to grow our email subscribers,” “our board is wondering if we can boost our ticket sales through the website,” “we want to reach a different audience online than we have with offline efforts,” etc.
Do you need help or recommendations on anything that's tangentially related to the website? Example: “we need a good print designer, can you make a recommendation?” or “we need help with our social media presence, can we talk about that as well?” etc.
