Just in Case — Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 9, 2026
Just in Case is published by Lieder Digital, LLC. We designed the extension to work without an account, advertising, analytics, or a developer-operated backend.
Information the extension handles
When you right-click selected text, click a button in the toolbar popup, or use a keyboard shortcut, the extension reads the text you have selected on that page. It uses that text only to produce the conversion you chose: UPPERCASE, lowercase, or AP Style Title Case.
If the page allows it, the extension replaces the selection. If the page does not allow editing, it writes the converted text to your clipboard and tells you so.
Local processing
Conversion happens in memory on your device. The extension does not send selected text, page contents, or browsing history to Lieder Digital or any other server. It does not save selections to persistent storage. It has no account and no analytics.
Clipboard
The extension does not read your clipboard. It writes to the clipboard only when a page will not allow the selection to be replaced. You control what happens to that clipboard text afterward.
Permissions
- contextMenus: Adds the Just in Case menu when you right-click selected text.
- activeTab: Lets the extension edit the selection on the tab where you opened the menu, clicked the toolbar button, or pressed a shortcut. Access lasts only for that action.
- scripting: Runs the converter included in the extension package on that tab. No remote code is loaded.
The extension has no browser-history permission and does not keep a record of the pages you visit.
Sharing and limited use
Lieder Digital does not receive the text you convert. We do not sell that information, transfer it to advertisers or data brokers, or use it for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or lending decisions.
The use of information handled by Just in Case complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Other services
Google Chrome operates under its own privacy policy. This policy covers the extension’s data practices. It does not replace Chrome’s policy or Lieder Digital’s website privacy policy.
Support messages
If you email us for support, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and any attachments. We use that information to respond to your request. Sending a support message is separate from using the extension. The extension does not automatically send us support information.
Changes
If the extension’s data practices change, we will update this policy and the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures before releasing the changed version.
