Just in Case

Convert selected text without leaving the page.

Just in Case is a free Chrome extension for the three case changes you actually need. Select text, right-click, and convert it in place. No website, no paste box, and no ads.

It is meant for headings, email addresses, and article titles. It does not try to be a style guide.

Features

  • UPPERCASE, for headings
  • lowercase, for email addresses
  • AP Style Title Case, for article titles
  • Replaces the selection in a text field or editable area
  • Undo with the usual keyboard shortcut
  • Copies the result instead if a page will not allow editing

AP Style capitalizes the first and last word and any word of four or more letters. Short articles, conjunctions, and prepositions stay lowercase in the middle, such as a, an, the, and, but, or, to, of, and in. A word after a colon or dash is capitalized.

How to use it

  1. Select the text you want to change.
  2. Right-click and open Just in Case.
  3. Choose UPPERCASE, lowercase, or AP Style Title Case.

You can also open the toolbar icon and click a conversion, or use Alt+Shift+U, Alt+Shift+L, and Alt+Shift+T. Those shortcuts can be changed at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

Private and straightforward

There’s no account to create, no advertising, no analytics, and no subscription. Selected text is converted on your device. The extension does not send it to Lieder Digital or any other server.

Read our Privacy Policy for details.

Availability

Just in Case has been submitted to the Chrome Web Store for review. We’ll add the installation link here once it’s approved and published.

Google Docs is not supported. Docs draws the document on a canvas and replaces the browser’s right-click menu, so the extension cannot read or replace that selection.
